As a firefighter, I’ve seen firsthand how quickly a fire can turn deadly — and how many families think they’re prepared, but aren’t. That’s why I created this Annual Home Fire Safety Checklist for 2025 — a step-by-step guide to help you spot fire risks, update your safety gear, and protect your family and home. Whether you’re a new homeowner or just doing your annual safety check, this list will walk you through everything you need to stay prepared.


🔥 1. 

Test All Smoke Detectors

  • ✅ Replace batteries (or check 10-year models)
  • ✅ Make sure each bedroom and hallway has one
